I believe that medical students should be given a chance to go ahead and explore their ideas of starting a business. The most that will happen is that they might fail at this new idea, but then so what? They can come right back to medical school and continue with their studies. It is important to understand that unless medical students go out in the practical world, they will not be able to understand how the world works. The medical life is there and will stay there, but one should also have an idea about other things as well, such as starting a new business venture (also known as college start-up).

By taking time off from medical school, which means a year, the medical student will be able to give their complete attention to the new business venture. As they are medical students, they can have their first business venture something related to their field. For instance, opening up a small clinic where they can practice their skills of checking blood pressure, temperature, and sugar test. These are basic things that every medical student is taught. Medical students can utilise this to earn money which will provide them with experience of how it feels to be part of the practical world.

It should be noted that taking off from medical school is not an easy step to take because of the diverse issues that are involved in it. People related to the student might not be convinced which would eventually lead to pressure from them to not take the step. There will also be aspect of losing credit hours that adds up to the final semester points. However, it is important that medical students do get an exposure to the practical world.
